Gavin, GM3GAV, will be active as FW3GT from Futuna Island (Wallis & Futuna, IOTA OC-118) from 31 October to 14 November 2026. Wallis & Futuna is not often on the air, and Futuna Island is also sought after by IOTA chasers.
Activity will focus on 40–10 m, with some time on 60 and 80 m. Modes are mainly CW, plus FT8.
The station will run a 600 W amplifier into a multiband vertical on the seashore. According to the operator, the northwest of the island has an excellent short-path take-off to Europe and a fair long path. Hills block the paths to North and South America. European stations should therefore have good chances, while callers from the Americas will find it harder.
